At Camp Winaukee, nestled on the beautiful shores of Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, tradition runs deep; but that doesn’t mean we don’t stay current with the sports and interests our campers love. One of the fastest-growing sports in the U.S. has also become one of our most popular programs here at camp: Flag Football.

A National Trend, A Winaukee Favorite

Flag Football is booming across the country. With its fast-paced gameplay, inclusive format, and focus on skill over contact, more than a million kids now play organized flag football annually in the U.S. — and the number keeps growing. At Winaukee, we’re proud to be part of this exciting movement, offering boys of all ages the chance to experience the sport in a fun, supportive, and skill-focused environment.

Built for Every Skill Level

Whether your son is picking up a football for the first time or already has a highlight reel from back home, our Flag Football program has something to offer:

Beginners are introduced to the fundamentals: proper throwing and catching techniques, basic routes, defensive positioning, and the rules of the game.

Advanced players get the opportunity to refine their skills through competitive games, position-specific coaching, and in-depth strategy sessions with our experienced staff.

Our goal? To make sure every camper walks away with improved skills, a deeper understanding of the game, and—most importantly—a smile on his face.

Ashleigh Jackowitz

Ashleigh grew up in Boise, Idaho and got her first taste of sleepaway camp in 2006 when she was hired to work on the waterfront at Camp Walt Whitman. She spent 5 summers there before joining the full-time team in 2012. Ashleigh attended Williamette University in Salem, Oregon as a college athlete in Volleyball. Prior to starting full time in camping, she took the chance to travel around the world, to every continent, over the course of 3 years. Teaching English in South Korea for a year was definitely a highlight! She has been involved with the American Camp Association as a Tri-State Conference Program Track Chair and is a speaker at multiple camp conferences. She also is a passionate advocate of Project Morry, an organization that helps youth from under-served communities attend summer camp, having served for many years on their Dare to Dream Committee. Her favorite role is as mom to their sons Cooper & Henry. Ashleigh, Matt, Cooper & Henry currently live in Ridgefield, CT.
